06:53 AM ET 05.02 | The Giants added some bulk during the draft, considerably so in the case of Johnathan "Big Hank" Hankins. Everyone wants the new guy to look the part on the first day of a new job, but when [Hankins] arrives on May 10 for the Giants rookie mini-camp, prepare to be underwhelmed. "No, you're not going to be real impressed," Luke Fickell, Ohio State's co-defensive coordinator, [Wednesday] told The Post. ... "He's going to have a gigantic smile on his face, he's going to be happy-go-lucky but his body is not going to impress everybody." ... "He looks fat. He looks chubby." ...[Hankins is] not as large as he once was. Fickell recalls Hankins arriving on campus weighing "350-ish" pounds.

I see a lot, but what position does he play ??

May 2, 2013  07:49 AM ET

I think he's a defensive tackle who strength is run stopping and eating.

If he has speed and quickness to go with the size...

Consider Vince Wilfork.

If he's in "football shape" thats' all that matters.

The definition of "football shape" is certainly very position-dependent

The knock on him was he did not go all out every play. Well, jeesh, they never took him off the field, he played every snap. We shall see, Reese and Ross do their homework, and honestly, if the guy can just keep his place in the middle of the line it will be better than the non run defense they played last year.

The headline is misleading. There is nothing in the quote to indicate that he can't play or that he does not train hard. the headline could just as easily said "looks can be deceiving." And as 50 said, the Giants need someone who can plug up the line, and hopefully this guy can help.

May 2, 2013  09:34 AM ET

If 320+ is chubby, what is their definition of fat?

.... Hopefully Haynesworth without the lack of motivation.

He could be a hockey defenseman. Then he could be a chubby checker.

DT at tOSU.....Or should I say he was the right side of the defensive line.

And when he washes out of the NFL he can be the delivery dude known as Fats Dominos.

Austin is the great unknown. It is his time, if the were right about him two years ago.

Ah, I forgot about him completely... Good thing we have Joseph there, good example of somebody who stepped up to the opportunity. Took a few years, but he's turned into a solid player.
