07:09 AM ET 05.02 | 'Tis the season not only for playoff hockey, but also surgical repairs, and Blue Jackets winger Marian Gaborik is set for abdominal surgery. [The operation] will require a three- to four-week recovery, forcing him to miss playing for Slovakia in the IIHF World Championships. According to one of Gaborik's agents, the surgery is to repair an area of his abdomen where a hernia surgery was performed in 2001. ... [Gaborik] is expected to be 100 percent for the start of Blue Jackets training camp. Gaborik traveled to Philadelphia on Tuesday with Blue Jackets trainer Mike Vogt, and they were met there by one of Gaborik's agents, Ron Salcer. Dr. William Meyers, who has treated some of the biggest names in sports, [examined] Gaborik. Surgery will be performed soon, perhaps on Thursday.

Things should turn around for the CBJ next season. It will be interesting with them being in the East now.

Oh, yeah? Like what? He's an injury looking for a place to happen. He'll be hurt again as soon as he's well.
