Surprise return for Staal?

07:11 AM ET 05.02 | While it may not happen Thursday, Rangers defenseman Marc Staal appears to be closing on a return. "I'm not gonna ... probably not going to play [Thursday," Staal said. Remember the last time Staal was close to playing and [John Tortorella] said he wasn't going to be in the lineup? Oh right, last year's Winter Classic -- the Rangers said the day before that Staal wouldn't play, then the day of the game announced he would replace -- wait for it -- Jeff Woywitka in the lineup. Staal, who was returning from concussion symptoms last season, now is dealing with blurry vision in his right eye after being hit with a deflected puck on March 5 at the Garden against the Flyers. But he's been practicing for weeks and getting used to faster play with his new visor, and he looks like he's back in shape.

My pleasure, boys. They post that pic every damn time, and I just start thinking/singing:

"I've been waiting so long
To be where I'm going
In the sunshine of your love. "

Eh. Ask me in another three-four games. I have a feeling the Islanders will be enraged come Game 2.

Not that good. We might have lost two more of our players.

Will check in with YOU tomorrow. ;)

I'm leaving early and MAY get to see the game tonight. Personally I'm not bragging or being cocky about anything. I have no guts. Should we win a series, or more.....I may get to be obnoxious after it's all over, not before. :-)

Yeah the Jokkinen and Neal injuries put a damper on it. I'm just hoping the Islanders don't go total thug on the Pens. Still nice win.

Neal coming back with the tinted visor was a clear sign he was having trouble with bright lights, and I thought you had to be 100% symptom free? I hope they didn't rush him back.

So it goes. I think this injury had to do with his leg, so again, so it goes...
