12:41 PM ET 05.02 | The Philadelphia 76ers appear to be looking for a first-time head coach with their upcoming hire, as Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports the team is interviewing Jeff Hornacek and Mike Malone.

Malone is currently the league's highest-paid assistant, serving as Mark Jackson's second-in-command. He'd previously been a head assistant for Monty Williams with the Hornets and Mike Brown with the Cavs. Hornacek, who played 15 NBA seasons, an All-Star in 1991, is currently an assistant coach with the Jazz, where he played six seasons and got his number retired for his performances on teams that made the NBA Finals twice. He also played two seasons for the 76ers, so he's somewhat familiar with the team.

The team will start doing interviews next week as they look to replace Doug Collins, who will retire as a coach but remain with the Sixers in an advisory role.

Just so you know, Jeff was a tremendous player, had a phenomenal career.

He does fall into the "best players" category. Very high basketball IQ.
