04:24 PM ET 05.02 | Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday afternoon. The hearing is related to Ference's elbow on Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski during Wednesday night's playoff game. The incident occurred the 13-minute mark of the first period in the Boston defensive zone during a Toronto power play. Ference sticks out his elbow and makes contact with Grabovski's head. No penalty was called on the play. Grabovski was able to play for the remainder of the game. Ference was suspended for three games during the 2011-12 regular season for boarding New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh.

I thought so too, until I saw the replay. He definitely threw his elbow out and into Grabovski's face. I bet he sits for a game, and probably should.

QUOTE(#9):

I must have been checking on the Red Sox batting practice when it happened, because I didn't see it live. I did however just watch the replay and Ference did toss a lazy elbow out towards Grapusski. I can't complain about the one game sit down, as a matter of fact I wouldn't have minded if Sheriff Shanahan had tossed him for the rest of the year because #21 blows. That being said, Grabovski must be angling for a job with the Canadian diving team.....err, I mean the Canadiens. He acted like he got shot on this glancing blow and later in the game he took 2 minutes to get his scrawny **** up off the ice when Boychuck finished his check in corner. Toronto fans should be embarrassed.

you mean...just another reason they should be embarrassed
