05:47 PM ET 05.02 | The New York Post is reporting that the New York Giants are scheduled to host running back Tim Hightower tomorrow. The team had planned on bringing in the former Cardinal and Redskin in March; however, the visit failed to be finalized. Hightower has been in the league since 2008; however, he has not played since 2011 due to an ACL injury just five games into that season. He has started 41 of the 52 games he has played in, amassing a total of 2,933 yards from scrimmage with 25 total touchdowns. At 26 years of age, the former fifth-round pick would bring a veteran presence to a very crowded New York backfield. The team currently has David Wilson, Andre Brown, Ryan Torain, Da'Rel Scott, Michael Cox and Jeremy Wright under contract. One may argue that a healthy Hightower would easily contend for, and win, the starting job. At the very least, he would provide a solid spell for either Wilson or Brown. The immediate plan is for Hightower to work out and take a physical for the team on Thursday, with hopes of inviting the former Richmond Spider to the team???s first mini-camp held May 10-11.

He's only 26? He'll get work for sure

He should but why did he sit out a year and a half with an ACL issue? Maybe he was taking the Derrick Rose path back.

The Giants could use a healthy Red Zone Running Back!
