05:48 PM ET 05.02 | Carson Palmer may be at the twilight of his NFL career, now with his third team in the Arizona Cardinals, but he is the last quarterback to come out of USC and have any prolonged success at the NFL level. So his opinion holds some relevance on the guy, who Eagles fans hope is the next great USC quarterback in the NFL, Matt Barkley. The Eagles selected Matt Barkley, surprisingly, with the first pick in round four of Saturday's NFL draft. Carson Palmer was asked his opinion on Barkley in an "NFL All-Access" interview and his response was a glowing review of Barkley. Of course, what else is Palmer going to say? Palmer also went as far as saying, "For him to go in the fourth round is an absolute steal." But having an NFL quarterback who has played at a Pro Bowl level publicly display faith that you will have success in your NFL career, certainly isn't a bad thing.

This might not be what Eagle Fans wanted to hear coming from Carson Palmer.

Maybe Carson Palmer's performance since leaving USC was part of the reason Barkley didn't get picked up till the 4th round.

Palmer is playing one more year, grabbing his cash and riding off into the sunset. Why would he care if he endorsed Barkley and was wrong? Sounds like the kiss of death to me.

I'm still wondering how Barkley fits into Kelly's scheme. Isn't he too prototyical for a Kelly offense? Maybe he'll just end up holding the clipboard for the next couple years and end up as a trade to a QB needy team to fill further needs on the Eagles' roster.

More likely...Mark Sanchez is the culprit for that.

Let's see what good OL Carson can due with an All-Pro Receiver, he definitely has The Gun, going to be an interesting year in Arizonia!
