05:50 PM ET 05.02 | It could certainly be argued that the most surprising selection of the 2013 NFL Draft's first round came at 16th overall when the Buffalo Bills chose quarterback EJ Manuel out of Florida State. The team traded back from eighth overall to eventually select the prospect, making him the first quarterback taken off the board. Prior to the selection, the Bills had been rumored to draft a quarterback; however, there was little-to-no talk of that player being EJ Manuel. Conventional wisdom gave way to believing that the Bills would end up with Ryan Nassib, former Syracuse quarterback under the team's current coach, Doug Marrone. When the selection was announced not to be Nassib, many fans were left scratching their heads; however, life-long Buffalo fan from Albion, NY, Kyler Hapeman quickly offered an accurate assessment.

High character guy, no drama, hard worker. He has the physical tools, just needs coaching and reps. They picked the right guy.

Would you rather have Geno Smith, Buffalo?
