06:56 AM ET 05.03 | Jeff Bray, of course, had more than a passing interest in the NFL Draft that went sideways for his son a week ago. [Jeff Bray] said Chiefs coach Andy Reid called before the draft ended, expressing an interest in Bray. "Nobody wants him (in the draft), then for two hours the phone does not stop ringing from different teams," Jeff Bray said. "As a parent, you say: 'You want him now, but you didn't want him in the draft?'" Jeff Bray said two teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers and coach Mike Tomlin, said they would draft Bray. But the Steelers instead took Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones in the fourth round. ... "I know I'm his parent, but I don't see how 11 quarterbacks get picked, and the best quarterback physically is not picked," Jeff Bray said.

The best quarterback physically may just be the worst quarterback mentally. That tends to scare teams away on draft day, especially considering that clip of Bray with Gruden, and the Ryan Leaf comparisons.

How is he the best quarterback, physically? GQ body or something?

You know, buttfumble Sanchez was in GQ...

May 3, 2013  08:28 AM ET

Best quarterback physically? Heck, he wasn't even the best QB physically in the SEC East, and possibly not even in the state of Tennessee.

May 3, 2013  08:50 AM ET

JaMarcus Russell, Heath Shuler, Vince Young, Ryan Leaf, Jim Drunkenmiller and Tim Tebow.....all good quarterbacks "physically".

May 3, 2013  08:54 AM ET

Come on, really that surprised now?

" he never beat a ranked team, won just two SEC games in his last two seasons at Tennessee, endured some off-the-field issues and didn???t display the leadership qualities NFL scouts desire from a quarterback."

You should hear what the Marathon Bombers' parents say about their good little boys.

May 3, 2013  09:05 AM ET

He misunderstood; they all wanted Tyler Wilson.

Don't you just love sports dads?

Maybe holding the clipboard a few years will help him grow up some...and working on his mechanics and decision making may improve his game...slightly.

If he was much of a sports dad, he would've ensured his son went somewhere other than Tennessee.

He's no Archie...

The guy rode the short bus to practice. He isn't exactly smart, a leader or a good person. He needed to be knocked down a peg.

Now you know what teachers have to put up with on a daily basis with parents and their kids.

May 3, 2013  01:14 PM ET

Now if he said that his son was the Smartest, or Relentless or without question the best leader, I'd be impressed!

Male equivalent of a "stage mom."

Volunteer youth sports coaches as well. The kids were great. Most of the parents were a pain in the butt.

But they all think their kids are better than they really are, don't they?
