07:00 AM ET 05.03 | Looking for Mark Sanchez these days? [Sanchez] stood at the intersection of Self Confidence and Delusion on Thursday, his hair held in place by a thin green headband, maintaining that there's "no doubt" that he would win the impending Jets quarterback competition against rookie Geno Smith and veteran David Garrard this summer. "There's a challenge for something I hold very dear to my heart -- that has really been my life goal -- and that's playing at this level and being a starting quarterback," Sanchez said in Florham Park during the team's first locker room availability since last season. ... Sanchez "absolutely" believes that he is still the future of the Jets -- a necessary mind-set for all competitors.

Sanchez may be the only person in America that believes he is "absolutely" the Jets starter. If his coaches believed it, there'd be no mention of competition...unless they're just trying to prod him along a bit.

Please end this madness known as the Jets

The Jets finally dump Tebow and yet the circus is still only beginning.

LOL!!!

Still going.... Greatest show on earth here.

This guy can't even sound convincing when he's telling you he's the starter..."I hold dear to my heart". Really? I have never, ever heard a football player say he holds playing football dear to his heart. He might think it, but he never said it.

Dude's too in touch with his softer, more sensitive side.

It's been a while since I recall anyone admitting they were a Jests fan...

Good thing for him is if it doesn't work out, he can be a popcorn vendor at their circus.

No one can Buttfumble like Number 6.

But Rex's tattoo makes this so much more complicated than it has to be.

Who'd have thought you could have such a great circus with just a loud ringmaster, a few elephants and a bunch of clowns?

No doubt? Gwen Stefani has about as good a chance at being the Jets starting QB as Sanchez.

Sanchez has the better chance, but she'd probably be the better quarterback.

I have no doubt Sanchez will win the starting job... the Jets have penchant for doing what is worse for the team....

Wonder when the re-make of the Greatest Show on Earth will be coming to theatres near you.

I just don't see Geno Smith as being better than Sanchez. I honestly don't.

What the Jets need is a better O-Line and a new head coach who isn't a moron. This is almost identical to what happened to Alex smith in SF with Mike Singletary as head coach.

Most of us agree... which isn't exactly throwing rose petals at the feet of Sanchez either.

But you've got to admit he's beginning his Jets career in fine fashion, fitting right in with all the other misfits!

Sanchez isn't better than Alex Smith, no matter who is coaching him.
