In the process, forward Lars Eller was brutally hit by defenseman Eric Gryba and was knocked unconscious on the play. Now, two more forwards will be lost for Game 2. The Montreal Canadiens will be without forwards Brian Gionta and Max Pacioretty due to upper-body injuries. Head coach Michel Therrien has yet to decide who will replace the players on Friday night. It is believed an announcement will be made closer to game time.

Well, this doesn't help matters, does it?

Cage match. Whoever is left standing...goes to next round!

I dare say the Habs are in a bit of bother.

Little Gallagher is going to have a huge game.

And the 2013 Norris trophy winner will lead them to victory.

Prust will harpoon any ocean going mammal who dares say anything otherwise.

As mystified as I was upon viewing it, there had to be some head contact otherwise he should have been conscious on the way down.

He's a bit part anyway. Eller is a way bigger loss.

What is with this Pacioretty guy always getting injured?

He's the Montreal forward counterpart to Markov...

HABS are in big trouble...couple more and they won't be able to get a team to the ice.

I will say that PK had a good game ...that hit along the boards was classic

All this Montreal talk has the Pens fans not noticing Sid is playing tonight.

When the going gets tough....

Tonight will be easier than the games in Ottawa given what happened last game.

And they did outplay Ottawa last night.

Going to come down to Price.

Not surprisingly, the Montreal Canadiens Team Site reports: "..... forward Lars Eller was brutally hit by defenseman Eric Gryba and was knocked unconscious on the play...."

My suggestion? Grow a pair, boys. This is hockey. Scared of being hit? Pick up lawn bowling or badminton.

My fear? Suban flying off the handle and doing something stupid to try and get even. That'd be tragic.

Shanahan has gone completely insane. He's off his rocker. I have zero respect for that idiot. Is he now going to suspend every player on every team who throws a stiff body check? Insane! He's made many bad calls. This one's the worst yet.

Shanahan has proven himself unworthy of the position of power entrusted into his hands.
