Bulaga moving to LT for Packers

03:49 PM ET 05.03 | Aaron Rodgers can feel a little bit safer about his blindside: The Green Bay Packers are moving Bryan Bulaga, possibly their best offensive lineman, to left tackle after he began his career on the right side of the line.

Marshall Newhouse allowed 11 sacks individually at left tackle last year, while Bulaga, the Pack's 2010 first-round pick, started his second straight year at right tackle before a season-ending hip injury. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he spoke to Bulaga as well as right guard Josh Sitton Monday to inform them they'd be moving to the all-important left side of the line, helping ensure rushers don't get free shots at Rodgers' back.

T.J. Lang will move from left guard to right, while Newhouse will be allowed to fight for the right tackle spot.

When switching the tackles you usually don't see them move the guard, too. Must be a package deal.

Bulaga and Sitton on the left side should work out fine. Gotta get a replacement for Newhouse though. That dude is a turnstile.

I agree with you about Newhouse. That dude is awful.

These moves have been long overdue. Newhouse blows. Start Barclay at RT and we're off to the races with those new RB's we got in the draft. Going to be hard to stop our offense this year. Of course with our defense the way it was in the playoffs last year, it looks like we're going to be trying to outscore everyone.

Off to the races? Lacy hasn't taken snap one in the NFL behind that line. He will not have the holes he had last year and you will see he was "over drafted". (unless you play Notre Dame every week)

Yeah.......

For the Packers sake, I hope Bulaga does better than Michael Oher. Some guys just aren't meant to play the left side.

Where is all the "Pack can't afford quality linemen after Rodgers' big contract" talk?
