09:39 AM ET 05.04 | Jorge Arrizurieta and H.T. Smith, who co-chaired the Miami Dolphins' campaign for a subsidized renovation to Sun Life Stadium, bashed the Florida House of Representatives late Friday for squashing the football club's plans. Lawmakers ended the annual legislative session without taking up a Dolphins-backed bill that would have allowed Miami-Dade County to ask voters if they wanted to raise the hotel-tax rate to fund part of the $350 million in upgrades. "While the Tallahassee politicians found time to raise the contribution limits for their fundraising, they said they couldn't find time to let the people of Miami-Dade make their voices heard," the men said in a statement.

So what kind of attendance numbers have the Dolphins had for the last 10 years ? They are one of the worst teams in the NFL for attendance. So all of this money would have been spent to do what, get Super Bowl L so it will raise the value of the Miami Franchise ?

There are 10X more things to see and do in the Bay Area than in Miami, with 10X the diversity, If a person were to decide to spend a 2 week vacation in Northern California during the week before and after the Super Bowl they would have access to this: Within 1 hour drive from Santa Clara you can drive to San Francisco, Santa Cruz ( Beach Boardwalk ) , or Monterey, Carmel, Pebble Beach for golfing , surfing, dining , and great historic parks, museums, and aquariums. If you like to snow ski a rental car will get you to Reno/ Lake Tahoe in 3-4 hours for skiing and gambling. If you like wines a 2 hour drive will get you to Napa, Sonoma, and Mendicino. Or a 1 hour drive will take you to Vineyards in Monterey County.

That was the ONLY thing this money would have achieved.

Ever sit in the Miami sun for three straight hours. Even in November it's a bit toasty.

When a state legislature does NOT vote to waste the people's money, it's news.
