10:03 AM ET 05.05 | Bucky Brooks, a former NFL defensive back and current analyst for NFL.com, left Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel of his early list of the top 30 prospects for the 2014 NFL Draft: "While I certainly believe he is one of the best football players in college football, I'm not convinced that his game translates well to the NFL. He is an undersized quarterback with a slightly below-average arm. While Manziel's scrambling ability and improvisational skills make him a fun guy to watch, I don't believe you can build a pro offense around a 'sandlot' game. If he displays a more consistent approach from the pocket in the fall, he could enter the discussion at a later time."

Meh. The pundits also underestimated Doug Flutie.

Another Vince Young and Tim Tebow, just smaller!!!! :-)

He better invest his money, that they are paying him now, wisely.

Pro football is boring. I'd rather watch Manziel's "sandlot" game than some boring cookie-cutter pro offense.

John boy should have went to ND if he wants an over inflated NFL draft pick.

Yep, without an arm. I still can't believe he won the Heisman over Tavon Austin.

So IOW, she has a job.

A scam of a fake job of a fake person who doesn't exist. But if she's working, you can't say she's doesn't have a job.

He's still young, maybe he'll have a growth spurt. And improve his arm.

But yeah... scrambling ability alone only means one of three things in the NFL: (1) you change positions, (2) you're forced out of the league or (3) you end up on a stretcher.

May you find clinkers instead of gold in your pot at the end of the rainbow.

I hope he stays in college for 2 more seasons. Because he isn't going to see the field in the NFL. Well, I guess he'll see it, from the bench or the seats.

Get paid 6 digits a year to workout and sit in prime seats during games.

Nothing wrong about that.

Does this surprise anybody?

Is there anything about Manziel that indicates he'll be a good NFL player, or at least worthy of a first round selection?

I'm sure not seeing it.

Is this comment for real?

West Virginia is a system team. That's why Stedman Bailey's stats were on par with Tavon Austin's, even though they were teammates. Heck, how could you even differentiate between Geno, Austin and Bailey in terms of the Heisman?

Manziel, on the other hand, dominated the SEC and wasn't a product of his system. Manziel wasn't surrounded by overwhelming talent, unlike Austin. And again, Texas A&M wasn't throwing 50 times a game to boost stats.

IMO Manziel was the clear Heisman winner and Tavon Austin wasn't even a front runner.

That said, you can bet Austin will have a much better NFL career than Manziel.

Or Marqise Lee, as he had better stats than Tavon Austin!!
