04:34 PM ET 05.05 | The final memory people have of Geno Smith, college football player, is his poor performance in West Virginia's Pinstripe Bowl loss to Syracuse. The conditions were far from ideal as snow fell at Yankee Stadium, making life tough on the quarterback. Now moving on to the pros, Smith will have to play in East Rutherford, N.J. after being drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Some have expressed concern over whether or not he can get the job done in those often cold conditions. Those concerns may be misguided, though. Smith was actually 4-1 in cold weather games during his Mountaineer career, as Rich Cimini of ESPN New York points out. The loss to Syracuse was the only loss of his career in games where the temperature was under 41 degrees. In fact, Smith completed over 70 percent of his passes for more than 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns without throwing a pick in those five games.

Since cold weather isn't a problem for Smith, after he washes out of the NFL he can go to the CFL.
