07:09 AM ET 05.06 | In one short week, Elijah Hood has brought the same intensity with which he runs to recruiting for the Irish. Since Hood committed to the Irish last Sunday night, the blue-chip running back prospect has been pounding the keyboard to contact Notre Dame recruiting targets on Twitter every day. He can't think of a better way to spend the free time made available by ending his recruitment with a verbal commitment. "It's all I think about as soon as I'm done with my workouts," Hood said. "All right, what am I going to do to help my university get better?" ... By Friday night, Hood had reached out to at least 13 different prospects who hold Notre Dame offers. One of his first targets, offensive tackle Quenton Nelson, has since committed.

Article talks about recruits being followed on twitter. That is a potential huge issue.

"It's all I think about following my workouts.". Glad he's not thinking about unimportant stuff like homework or studying.

Hood is heading up the South Bend Leprechaun Posse.

'Sup, Harley.......hope life is treating you well.

These kids are funny....I never claimed to be a D-1 player & nobody ever paid me to play a sport. Guess I wasn't cut out for it. When I was 18, there was particular topic that was "all I thought about", but it wasn't convincing other 18 yr old dudes to come hang out with me (sorry Sparty, it wasn't studying, either).

Oh, the sacrifices these kids make for the game.....

Doing well, and thanks.

Geez, I knew Twitter was distracting, but to the exclusion of the fairer sex (real AND imagined)?... Something about being a Domer.

May 6, 2013  11:47 AM ET

Domer recruiting is like a chain letter once you commit then its up to you to sign 7 more on.

You know when I was 18, I was not convincing guys to come hang out with me ........again it must be a Domer thing ....oh well to each's own......but girls are more fun there buddy.

"Hear, kitty kitty." Just change the latter words to another popular colloquialism.

Gee, I hope for his sake he's tweeting real recruits.

You got it, Tinny....and at 42, I haven't changed much except to be happy to continue to catch the same one a few times a week instead of trying to catch a new one every weekend.

MUCH safer and cheaper for an old man :-)

Pig snare....I see what you did there.

Nothing like a pig in a snare to start a good weekend BBQ, huh?

Who the hell would want to play there after last season. What an embarrassing year. The best season in Notre Dame history and it ends with a 50-0 blow out in the bcs championship game, and a close win against the worst USC team in their history with their back-up QB starting.

It can only go down from here.
