06:57 AM ET 05.07 | Free agent defensive end John Abraham's effort to land a new deal may soon come to fruition. The Tennessee Titans and the representatives for [Abraham] are still talking and a deal between the two sides could come to fruition this week, according to a league source. The Titans are in need of a situational pass rusher, and there are members of the Titans coaching staff who believe Abraham is a player who could help in that regard. Abraham, who celebrates his 35th birthday today, has put up 32.5 sacks over the past three seasons. Abraham had 10 sacks for the NFC South champion Atlanta Falcons a year ago. However, another league source indicated that no deal between the Titans and Abraham is imminent right now.

And even if you've got nothing to report, using "fruition" twice in the same paragraph is bad form.
