Del Negro's future in CP3's hands?

07:01 AM ET 05.07 | The Clippers -- not just the franchise, but the players themselves -- hold the future of Vinny Del Negro in their hands. Whether the potential signing of free agent Chris Paul is linked directly to Del Negro's return, the opinion of the All-Star point guard and forward Blake Griffin will fit somewhere in the equation. "We do the exit interviews for a reason," club vice president of basketball operations Gary Sacks said Monday. "We want to have feedback from our players to hear what they're going to say, but whatever we do, we're going to do as an organization. "Of course you're going to listen to your star players, you're going to listen to all of your employees and all of your players."

On Mike and Mike this morning, they mentioned a rumor of a Clippers/Celtics trade: Blake Griffin for Paul Pierce, KG and Doc Rivers. Vinny Del Negro would then be fired.

Why not listen to your FA star players?

It worked out well for the Cavs.

The owner is also the problem here. Can you trust the owner to pony up and add additional talents to help CP3?

Chris Paul is not staying with the Clippers. If he was he would've done it already.

He HAS to resign! Isn't he the King of LA now that his team went out in the first round just like the Lakers? The Clippers need to put up that towel size Pacific Division banner at the Staples Center. It would be good for a laugh.

Nope - not one damn bit.

this is salvagable if they just pick up some veteran FA bigmenif they retained KMart this past off-season- I am convinced it would've turned out differently There are always some veteran bigs taht know how to play and bang out there. oh- and of course it would make things much easier if jordan and blake grew a pair this off-season

Grew a pair of arms that could shoot? Yes, I agree 100% on that..

Will CP3 be there when the Clippers raise the division champions banner?

Nah, we will give it to him as a going away gift.

For all the talk and hooplah, CP3 hasn't done much in the league wrt playoff wins. No one wants to use the term "overrated" when it comes to some "star" players.
Jeez even 'Melo took his Nuggets much further than Paul has ever taken his team.

Yep, VDN is gone no matter what happens to CP3.

Any day now.

Just like Dumbtonie being retained by Jim Buss, VDN will be resigned by Sterling. VDN has been the only coach in a long time that had brought the Clippers a playoff berth. Sterling is cheap like that so he will resign him.

Nope, he will be assisting Cliff Paul with a State Farm accident claim.
