07:12 AM ET 05.07 | So long, Brandon Mitchell. [The Arkansas senior] said he had no interest in playing anything but quarterback after returning to the position this spring. Now he's leaving the Razorbacks in search of another opportunity to be a starter. Arkansas coach Bret Bielema announced Monday that Mitchell was among four players who had been granted releases from their scholarships after conducting individual post-spring meetings. He joined receiver/running back Keante Minor, defensive end Austin Flynn and safety Defonta Lowe as players who won't return. ... Mitchell's departure clearly was the biggest news after he competed with sophomore Brandon Allen for the starting job throughout the spring.

What is not said in this article is that Brandon will walk @ graduation this weekend and recieve his diploma. Great kid who took advantage of the opportunity and graduated with honors in 4 years.

With his degree, he can transfer and be eligable to play immediatly w/o having to sit out a year. Look for him to go to Western Ky and play his final year in Petrino's system...the one he's been in for 4 years.

Congrats on getting your degree & good luck chasing your dream. I hope you are an exceptional QB in the Sun Belt.

Sounds like a pretty decent setup for the kid, glad to see his academics stayed on track.

What about UAB?????????? Good for him.. Wish he would have came to BR foR BBall

UAB is another very good choice...back to his QB coach. I heard he's leaning towards Petrino, but either place ought to give him a chance to show off his physical ability.

Great kid, great future......made lots of good contacts while @ Arky. He will do well in corporate America when/if he chooses.

I sure hope Bielema isn't cleaning house to build another Wisconsin. He'll get his ever lovin' **** kicked by most of the SEC if he does.
