07:14 AM ET 05.07 | The young man himself knows the story is simply too delicious -- the son of an NBA player who could become the first African-American top pick in the NHL draft, and by the city where he learned to play hockey. This must be why some sportswriters in North America have started to call Portland a second home in recent weeks. Who can resist the story of Seth Jones? "Yeah, it is. I agree," Jones said, when reminded of the uniqueness of his story line. "I don't blame them. I'd do the same thing if I was in media." ... "I still have a lot of good friends in Denver that I've had my entire life. I'm very familiar with the city, and should I get drafted there I'd be very happy to go back there."

He'll be the only #1 pick with a dad named Popeye. He can't be that hard to find.
