03:23 PM ET 05.07 | Detroit Lions second-round pick Darius Slay had arthroscopic knee surgery on Friday, according to Adam Schefter, despite previous reports that the partial meniscus tear wouldn't require an operation to fix. However, the cornerback should be ready to re-join the Lions in time for training camp. Slay's meniscus tear was no secret to the Lions when they drafted him, but was considered so minor that he was expected to participate in the team's rookie mini-camp, beginning on March 10. He even told Anwar Richardson of MLive.com that he had performed two private workouts prior to the draft with the knee injury.
