06:16 PM ET 05.07 | Johnson said Tuesday the Jets' talent evaluators gave the much-maligned Smith "a very high score" for his intangibles, revealing they would've picked the former West Virginia star in the first round if they had traded down with the 13th overall pick. "I'm extremely happy to have him," Johnson told reporters at an NFL symposium in Philadelphia, adding: "He's welcome to the competition. It's going to be fun."

Geno Smith take note. The only people you should worry about pleasing are your teammates, your coaches, the owner, and most importantly yourself. I'm sure you'll keep your head despite all this talk because you've already won in life. You should just do like you said you already do and that's stay out of trouble and the rest of it will come along just fine.

they would have picked him in the first round, but not with the 13th pick.....I guess his intangibles weren't that tangible after all....

They're just trying to make him feel like a first rounder so he doesn't pout on the sidelines and fire the waterboy!

Well, he does sort of look like Vince Young, with that "Whut-chu-talkin'-'bout-Willis?" stare.

By the way, Dolemite, how 'about changing the Jets' name to the "Yets"? Seems to fit their pathway to the Super Bowl.

The Jets have talent evaluators??? Who are they trying to kid??

Wasn't Woody Johnson equally thrilled to have Tim Tebow as a Jet last season?

Not only was Mr. Johnson thrilled to have Tebow, he told the press:

???He???ll be with us for three years, and he???ll be a real asset in terms of helping us win games.???

So, I wouldn't pay much attention to anything that he says.

"He's welcome to the competition. It's going to be fun."

Doesn't that sound like fun, Mark? It's like you and all the quarterbacks will be so buddy-buddy while they decide who gets cut.

And Woody will send Gina a dozen long-stemmed roses every day.

May 8, 2013  01:37 AM ET

Happy? Of course, he is. His name is Woody, isn't it?

May 8, 2013  03:19 AM ET

It's official. Woody Johnson is insane.

Woody Johnson is an idiot

The more he says to the media, on any subject, the more he confirms that.
Woody, please shut up!

Unlike with Tebow, Sanchez said he would NOT stop if he saw Geno on the side of the road with a flat tire. Got to build that trust, man.
