Jackson not looking to coach, at least not in Brooklyn

06:56 AM ET 05.08 | Fuggedaboutit? Phil Jackson will not be coaching the Nets. As first reported by The Post Tuesday, a league source said that Jackson is not looking to coach. The Nets had contacted Jackson in order to gauge his interest in possibly returning to the sidelines and taking over as coach after deciding not to bring back interim coach P.J. Carlesimo. It was a call that the Nets had to make, and one that Nets general manager Billy King said he would make Sunday when announcing the search had commenced. Given Jackson's pedigree, including his 11 championship rings from his work with the Bulls and Lakers, it would be foolish to conduct a coaching search and not see if he'd be willing to take the job.

Of course Phony Phil won't coach the Nets, they don't have any potential G.O.A.T on their roster.

But he would take Spo's job in a heart beat if he could.

The say this like it's a bad thing. It's good that he is removed from the process early. Now they can hopefully find a real coach and I can be proud to support my favorite New York basketball team.

A real coach? You think Phil Jackson is not a real coach? No surprise...

Seeing how you're NOT a fan of a real New York basketball team...

You're right... I'm a native New Yorker who has "never" been a fan of Knicks. (I admired the Celtics.) I've been a fan of the Nets since before they joined the N.B.A. because they had one of my childhood basketball idols... Julius "Dr. J." Erving. Throughout their history, there are only two two Knicks players that I admired were Walt "Clyde" Frazier and Bernard King (Oddly enough... from Brooklyn).

If it was that easy for Phil to win with those Bulls and Lakers rosters, why didn't Doug Collins, Del Harris or Rudy T do it?

Phil Jackson to the Heat? I don't see him going to any lower tier team like the Nets. Phil knows his success is as much due to his amazing assistant staff as is to his amazing talent (Michael, Kobe and Shaq). That kind of talent does not come along too often.

He only wants to coach the Lakers

You are truly ridiculous. As if any man with 11 rings wins them by sheer accident. Go away. PLEASE!
