07:01 AM ET 05.08 | Outside of a 10-9 loss on May 4, Los Angeles hasn't scored more than three runs during a winless month -- one that has seen the club fall from one game under .500 to six games under the mark, including a sweep in San Francisco. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly admitted he's "just not happy with the way we're scoring runs right now" -- an admission that isn't surprising at all considering the 106 runs the Dodgers have managed in their first 31 games ranks 28th in the majors ahead of only the Chicago White Sox (who have played one fewer game) and the Miami Marlins. Looking to spark a little life in that offense, Mattingly moved shortstop Dee Gordon from eighth in the order.

The betting window for the TPC @ Sawgrass is open til midnight tonight. Anyone with an interest in golf is welcome to head over to the golf threads and make a selection.

if'n I were to make a bet I would place a small wager on Tiger. That's if'n I were inclined to make a bet.
Of course, this is contingent on whether he has sobered up from his Monday night at the Boom Boom Room and still has a girl friend after that night.

Almost always good advice.

Disagree. Mattingly isn't in trouble. Half the damn team is hurt or recovering from surgery. It's not his fault.

2 words - hitting coach, as in how did this guy ever get this gig? Dude is a hitting coach, not a game manager. Fire this guy already or send him to the minors. Mike - it's just about ready to happen, be patient and you'll be wearing dodger blue in no time.

This situation is bringing back visions of Chan Ho Park.....

Heart? Quitters? Either one will work... Injuries is the paper cause for now... Mattingly go somewhere you can manage real ballplayers....

May 8, 2013  11:46 PM ET

I don't think the problem is Mattingly either. I can't say I've seen him make bad managerial decisions. He knows baseball, and he had Joe Torre as a mentor for several years. The season is still young.

Just call them the west coast version of the Red Sox....circa 2012....underachievers galore....look up north at the Giants....they play team ball and there is cohesiveness in the club house.....magic and the rest of the Dodgers (also throw in the Angels)are getting just what they deserve

With the money LA spent on (FREE) expensive agents and trades for Adrian Gonzales and Beckett, Eithier and Kemp aren't producing. Mac Gwire as hitting coach isn't producing results. The rotation has been decimated with injuries, but between GM and manager have to act , they have to look at other options to fill rotation spots, like bringing up prospects from minors or trading for starters if available. no other teams will feel sorry for LA. Dodgers can't continue to sit on their hands and do nothing but whine about injuries, if GM and Mattingly want to keep their jobs.

Dodgers , by calling up some minor league pitching, who knows, the Dodgers just may find a diamond in the rough.
