Questions plague USC this offseason

07:06 AM ET 05.08 | Spring settled little at Southern Cal, where Trojans head coach Lane Kiffin still doesn't know who will replace Matt Barkley. [And] that's just one of many questions that the team faces after its extremely disappointing 2012 campaign. The end of spring drills saw sophomore Cody Kessler with perhaps a slight lead on Max Wittek. ... [True] freshman Max Browne will also be part of the mix in the fall. No matter who gets the nod under center, he will have capable playmakers in running back Silas Redd, Biletnikoff Award-winning receiver Marqise Lee, emerging playmaker Nelson Agholor and a strong offensive line. But will there be consistency under center?

The NCAA scholarship reduction penalty is having the expected impact--lack of depth.
Great first team skill position talent, marginal line talent, little reserve talent for the inevitable injuries.
Many will blame Kiffin, and he probably is over his head, but the real villain now coaches up in Seattle!

USC plague

I am not worried about QB. We have enough talent on that side that no one guy is going to be asked to carry us. The back 4 on D is a much bigger concern.

Keep perspective on USCw. They should produce a better result than 2012, but as SportsFun points out, scholly reduction lack of depth could frag Trog fortunes in 2013.

In my opinion, LK's a prepuce that somehow survived la circoncision, but Pat should leave him in place for several years after sanctions are lifted, give him a chance to demonstrate what he can produce with a full compliment of scholly athletes.
