Captain letting Wild down

07:11 AM ET 05.08 | The Blackhawks put Minnesota's season on the brink Tuesday, with the former making things look relatively easy. If the Wild was going to make a game out of Game 4, or a series out of its matchup with a No. 1 seed, it was going to need a leader, and what has been established in this series is that the reputation of its captain would have been better served had the Wild missed the playoffs. [Mikko Koivu] is minus-5 for the series and has yet to score. ... [Zach Parise] has created chances and put shots on net in the series. It's hard to say what Koivu has contributed. He hasn't been particularly physical. He hasn't created scoring chances for his teammates. He hasn't been effective defensively.

In other words... Koivu has pretty much stunk up the place.

Thanks for showing up, Wild. Pick up your door prizes on the way out.

So, does Parise get the "C" on his sweater next season?

That's what this article seems to be insinuating; however, the stated reasoning behind the insinuation is idiotic.

That's what I thought. The writer wasn't to shy about making his comparisons.

If anybody should be named captain it's Dany Heatley.

Well it's better than making him the designated driver.

Parise aint much better. How about simply earning the check your being paid. One could argue you would lead that way.

Exactly. They've already exceeded expectations. Wish it was the Blue Jackets. At least we'd have a series.
