Without Backstrom or Harding, Wild stand little chance

06:05 PM ET 05.08 | The Minnesota Wild have a tall task ahead of them in stopping the Chicago Blackhawks from winning Game 5 and thusly ending the Wild's Stanley Cup dreams. One thing that has kept the Wild in this series is physicality and goaltending, but it looks like the Wild may be without one of those moving forward. If Minnesota wants to win this series, it's going to need to go a full seven games and that's very unlikely at this point. The Wild brought it hard in two games but only managed to win one of them. Now that they're in a hole, they'll be lucky to win another game, let alone one on the road in Chicago. But this is the NHL playoffs and stranger things have happened. Unfortunately for the Wild, they need to win three straight against the best and most consistent team in hockey and they'll need one heck of a miracle to pull this one off -- and that's assuming they'd have two healthy netminders, which they don't at the moment.

Like the way the Hawks play the game but I was pulling for Harding with what he's had to deal with over the past year...

Looks like year 1 of the Suter/Parise era will be a bust. Unless making the playoffs and being eliminated in the 1st round counts as progress.

I'll go on record by saying that they have 'no chance.'

I was pulling for the Columbus Blue Jackets. They would've given the Hawks a much better fight than this nauseating trap crap.

Got to do what you got to do to stay in the game Roamer. Should they get into a skating contest with them to satisfy fans who arent part of their fan base? They'd destroy the Jackets and they are about to destroy the next team they play as well. The talent on the Hawks is phenomenal. No answers for their second / third/ and checking lines. Couple that with an anemic offense and we get a 3-1 deficit. Soon to be 4-1.

Hey, 3-1 series deficits can be overcome. They can! I know they can! Please say they can...

Danny, you guys got a way better shot than the wild do though. By a country mile.

By a country mile? Maybe by the width of a parking spot at Loblaws.
