Ellis, Sanders nearly fought in locker room during playoffs

04:16 PM ET 05.09 | Larry Sanders and Monta Ellis didn't take the Milwaukee Bucks' sweep at the hands of the Miami Heat too well, as the pair apparently needed to be separated in the locker room after a 104-91 loss to the defending NBA champions.

Although no punches were thrown, the confrontation was heated enough for teammates to step in. Sanders had reportedly told players that they were selfish, and didn't need to pay attention to "next year" - perhaps a jab at Ellis, who has the ability to opt out of the final season of his contract and become a free agent.

The Bucks, currently without a coach, have long been considered likely to only retain one of Ellis and Brandon Jennings for the upcoming year.

It was wrong for Sanders to assume Ellis is playing selfishly because it's potentially a contract year for him. Ellis plays like that every year. To Monta's credit, at least he recognized himself when Sanders called out selfish play. I'd rather have Bogut even if his foot has to be replaced by a cast iron claw foot off of an old bathtub.

Monta would fit well with a team like the Celtics. The problem with the Bucks, they have 3 players that need the ball in their hands. I hope Monta finds a good home.

Both Ellis and Jennings are non-leaders. I would be shocked if either of them got a hefty contract.

Love Sanders's game. It would be nice if both Ellis and Jennings were gone next season. I miss Bogut and wasn't happy about that trade. But it's a hard thing when he's constantly injured. Happy to be rooting for him and the Warriors though.
