Deng, given the tap as a test to see if he had meningitis - he didn't, it was just the flu - had to spend time in the hospital. He reports he still feels weak, receiving headaches, and that he wasn't able to shoot around, saying he "struggled." He says he still hasn't fully gotten his appetite back.
Deng is already a lanky player, listed at 6'9, 220 pounds. 6'9, 205 pounds is downright gaunt, and for any weight loss like that to happen in nine days is clearly unhealthy. However, Tom Thibodeau still considers the forward "day-to-day," and Deng says he'll try whatever it takes to play. Jimmy Butler should be ready to continue playing an enormous minutes load in their playoff series against the Heat.
