The all-purpose back rushed for 1,156 yards, carrying the ball 138 times.

Holy Einstein! The article goes on to say that Auston also turned down offers from Baylor, Rice, and Stanford. I'm guessing he'll fit in just fine academically and athletically at Nerdwestern. Best Wishes!

Yep, Plano west is one of the best academic public schools in the state. Well, behind SL Carroll and Highland Park :)

He knew he wouldn't be the feature back at UTx, so was hoping for a Rice commit. Smart kid making a smart decision.

Choosing a school based on academics over athletic achievement? How un-American (or at least un-Texan) of him!

Here's hoping he earns his degree from Northwestern AND makes it to the NFL.

Shame the Hooters couldn't nab this guy, but it's great to see academics playing into a player's decision.

So, does freshman hazing include convincing newbies of the existence of "Rice Owls," sending them out into the rice paddies at night to obtain pics and audio of the elusive raptors?
