05:37 PM ET 05.09 | For the New York Giants perhaps the most important offseason issue is the pending contract situation of star wide receiver Victor Cruz. Initial reports suggested that the two sides were still far apart after the Giants made offers that would pay Cruz close to $8 million per year, Cruz and his agents have said they are looking for a deal closer to $10 million in annual salary. If an agreement cannot be reached on a new contract within the next few days, it is unclear whether or not Cruz will attend the Giants' first mandatory offseason mini camp which will run from May 10-13. Cruz, a Patterson New Jersey native, is coming off a 2012 season in which he hauled in 86 passes for 1,092 yards and 10 touchdowns. Further complicating the Cruz contract situation is the fact that Giants WR Hakeem Nicks has just one year remaining on his current deal. There has been some suggestion that the Giants would use their franchise tag on Nicks, which would bring his salary somewhere into the $10 million range.

What, no salsa dance time in NY City?

As a Redskins fan, I can say with certainty that Cruz is not worth that kind of money (unless he signs with Washington, and then he IS worth that kind of money).

Hopefully, he will take his signing bonus and invest it with someone who can teach him some dance moves. That will bring him up to TWO moves!
