06:59 AM ET 05.10 | What does Tim Tebow's future look like? [Tebow], the man without a football team, hit the chicken dinner speaker circuit Thursday night. Apple whiskey BBQ chicken to be exact. This is his future. Maybe, he will be a preacher. Or maybe, he will be a motivational speaker. But make no mistake, whether he ever plays in the NFL again, this is his future. Love him or hate him, this is what he does best. In his first extended public appearance since being cut by the New York Jets, Tebow gave an hour-long speech to about 3,000 Thursday night as part of the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan's annual speaker series at Lake Michigan College. "I don't know what the future holds," Tebow said.

While it would be nice for Tim to get a legitimate shot at QBing a team, it may not happen. Todd Blackledge was a very good college QB that did not survive long in the NFL and became one of the best college football commentators around. Tim may be the same.

So, how was the chicken?

Don't know if Tim could be as critical. He's too nice.

I was thinking the same thing...Apple Whiskey BBQ. That sounds pretty good to me.

The CFL regular season is about 6 weeks away and Montreal has offered him a try out for backup position at QB.

Yeah, gotta be a step up from The Colonel.

The wife has one of those nutritional jihad things against fried chicken, so we never have it at home and we never go anywhere that has it.

You've got to tell her that fried chicken is OK as long as you balance it by eating a lot of chocolate.

No, seriously. The chemicals in dark chocolate help prevent heart disease.

Bingo. I don't think I could stand listening to Tebow anyway.

Maybe if he ever becomes a man, his voice will drop, and I'll change my mind.

tebow can order steamed vegies and water for Mrs. Tebow while he orders his fried chicken and whiskey. problem solved.

May 10, 2013  09:59 AM ET

May have something to do with the recommendation on the bag of Lays Wavy ... sprinkle chocolate chips on the Lays and microwave them.

I am not kidding.

May 10, 2013  10:32 AM ET

Yeah, he is very motivational because he is so well traveled and was a QB in college. How is that going to translate to real life?

Never give up, never give up. Sounds like he is still trying to convince himself.

May 10, 2013  10:33 AM ET

His future is talking, shaking hands, kissing babies and getting free BBQ? Sounds good to me

May 10, 2013  10:36 AM ET

He's earned millions in the NFL, and probably didn't blow it all on drugs, booze, cheesecake and makin' it rain. Now all he has to do is figure out how not to bored for the next 60-some years.
