07:11 AM ET 05.10 | For 23-year-old second base prospect Derek Dietrich, the call from the Jacksonville Suns came at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday. "Way back in spring training one of my goals was to [make it here this year]," Dietrich said. "Now it's to continue to contribute and stay here." Whether that happens for [Marcell Ozuna] or Dietrich remains to be seen, but Marlins president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest said the club is going to make sure both players get a real good look. "I don't even know who is here anymore," Beinfest said after the Marlins scored just one run during a three-game sweep this week by the Padres in San Diego. "It's been a bad run. It kind of started first day of spring training."

Over or under, can the Fish win more games than the 62 Mets (40).

I think they need to cut payroll, get volunteers to play and coach and have taxpayers contribute a little more.

They are on a pace to win 47 games if all goes right( same as Houston ) and no major injuries. Hey, it is possible. They can dream, can't they?

I'll take the over. 53 wins is reasonable.

As bad as theMarlins are, they are not as bad as Angel Hernandez and his blown call. my Question is did the other 3 umpires see the ball Rosales hit was a Homerun and give their vote for a homerun but overruled by crew chef Hernandez? After all Hernandez made the initial call. Hernandez makes the players list of top 5 worst umpires every year for a reason.

I live in New Orleans, home to their Triple A affiliate so I guess this means I have no hope of seeing some big name coming down for rehab.
I think we average a better attendance than they do.

You can blame Bud Selig and the Owners for this disaster in Miami. Mr. Loria owned the Expos, and essentially did the same thing and drove them out of Montreal because fans stopped showing up. So what does Baseball do? They approve Mr. Loria to buy the small market Marlins! Mr. Loria just wanted a new stadium which would increase the value of his team so he could sell in 2015 when his agreement with the city of Miami states that he can pocket a majority of his investment. The sad thing is they still have 2 World Series since they came into the league in 1993, which is as many as my Phillies who came into the league in 1883!

you mean fans actually want to see a quality product on the field and not just a shiny new ballpark? who would have known.

not too mention the little castro comment by ozzie will not be forgotten easily. he may be gone but that attitude has been associated w/ the ball club so it may be some time before the community is able to support the team. winning cures everything in sports so until that starts happening expect your tampa bay like crowds of 4000 people.

Loria has a major communcation problem when your president of base ball operationsLarry Beinfest can't keep up with 25 man ML roster. Bein fest said its been a bad run. It kind of started first day of spring training. WRONG! It started when Loria bought the Marlins!

They'll win about 48-50.

I'd be tempted to take the under. This team is probably not going to improve whereas many other MLB teams will. The losing streaks could become epic. There are probably a lot of AAA teams that could win a series with the Fish. Loria should sell.
