12:48 PM ET 05.10 | Penn State has landed Marcus Allen, a four-star safety recruit from Upper Marlboro (Md.) Dr. Henry A Wise Jr, boosting the defensive talent in the Nittany Lions' 2014 class. The 6'1, 180-pound prospect had offers from 26 schools, and was considering Maryland and Pittsburgh before deciding on Penn State. The consensus four-star recruit is ranked as the No. 23 safety nationally and the No. 7 player in Maryland according to 24/7's composite rankings. Allen is the seventh recruit in Bill O'Brien's class, which can't have more than 15 members due to NCAA sanctions. He's the third four-star recruit and the second defensive back, although four-star athlete De'Andre Thompkins could switch to cornerback if the coaching staff opts not to play him at wide receiver.
