Quinton Patton's route running needs work

07:03 PM ET 05.11 | After one day of rookie camp, I can tell you that Quinton Patton is nowhere close to being ready. (But that can be said for all of the rookies.) However, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about Patton's future. Based on one two-hour practice, the thing that he most needs to improve -- aside from just learning the system -- is his route-running.

So all rookies stink but we're gonna single this one out after one two-hour practice why?

He stinks but they all do. He shows promise, but that's maybe why he was drafted.

In other news, water is wet, the sky is blue, and Tiki Barber is a feminine product used for freshness on a summer's eve.

So that's why they call him Vinegar Tiki.

Exactly. Get off their backs. This is same mentality with Geno Smith. Kid's done nothing but they still ride him.

As long as he stays in the NFL and does not drive for UPS, then I do not care if his route running ever gets better.

This was reported so as to make A.J. Jenkins feel better about his rookie season and his chances to make the team in 2013, although many feel he will still be on the team no matter what come 2013. Jenkins was the 49ers 1st round pick in 2012, and was the only 1st round pick in the 2012 draft not to start a game. I think he played 2-3 plays and never caught a ball.

So many of these draftees have so many blocking, route running, and character flaws, it makes you wonder what they learned in college? They sure can shine when it comes to running a 40 or doing a 3 cone exercise, Yawn.

One thing about all the 49ers draftees in 2013, they all seem to be nice young men.

These guys are here to make the 90 man squad. The person I feel sorry for is Nate Montana ( son of Joe ) who has had to answer a million questions about his father. It would be nice if they evaluated him against his competition and not his father for now.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for $64 an hour?
