10:30 AM ET 05.12 | Whether it's at this year's trade deadline or after the season, one of the most difficult decisions in franchise history is going to have to be made in the not-too-distant future. Chase Utley: stay or go? Much of that decision will be influenced by the play of the team and the play of the veteran second baseman who so far has been solid offensively and shaky at times defensively. Some of the decision will also be influenced by the play of Cesar Hernandez, the 22-year-old second baseman at triple-A Lehigh Valley. Hernandez is making the case that he is close to being ready to play in the big leagues.

And Maybe they can get someone pick up Howard, Chooch, Young, Lannan too (and pick up most of the salary)...

And since Doc is Doc - someone looking to next year will pay top dollar for him...

They could rebuild using the model they used to put the Outfield together - that's worked well...

For Chase Utley or for Roy Halladay? Utley will retire next year, and halladay would come back next year just to say good bye to the b Phillies fans:-) :-)

Last year of his contract, declining numbers, and he will be 35 before next year. I think their front office has already made that decision.

The Cards have a second baseman at Triple A Memphis right now and he will be ready for the 14 season and won't take on a aging over price veteran.
