10:59 AM ET 05.12 | Texas Tech women's basketball coach Kristy Curry has resigned to take the same position with Alabama. With Curry's resignation, athletic director Kirby Hocutt now has the opportunity to bring in his own head coaching choices in Texas Tech's four biggest sports in terms of fan attendance. Hocutt, who is entering his third year on the job, fired former baseball head coach Dan Spencer a year ago and replaced him with assistant coach Tim Tadlock. Former football head coach Tommy Tuberville resigned in December to take the head coaching job at Cincinnati and Hocutt hired Kliff Kingsbury. In March, Hocutt opted not to retain interim-men's head basketball coach Chris Walker and subsequently hired Tubby Smith.

IMHO Curry thinks it is too difficult to compete with Baylor, Zero U, Iowa State and the Kansas schools in women's hoops. From what I can tell, Bama's been in the bottom of the SEC so it isn't going to be any easier to compete with UTk, Kentucky, A & M, etal.

QUOTE(#2):

This Texas Tech has a hard time keeping coaches. It must be in a really bad town or bad part of the state. There has to be something wrong with the locale of Texas Tech. Any Texas people out there that has any info of this. (anyone but you, JRM. No telling what the hell you would post)

JD you know what JRM would post!

TTech suffers from a doofus AD ... and ... it IS in a bad part of the state. TX panhandle is flat with scrub brush and an occasional tree ... almost (but not quite) like Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma.
