06:03 PM ET 05.12 | For the first time in school history, Ohio State will pay three football assistant coaches more than $500,000. Defensive coordinator Luke Fickell, who will make $600,000 this year, is the highest paid of the trio, but co-defensive coordinator Everett Withers and offensive coordinator Tom Herman aren't far behind. As has been the case with head coaching salaries, assistant salaries have increased significantly over the last decade. Compensating assistants like Ohio State does has become necessary in order to keep up with the other powers in college football.

Whats your point.......Bama only had 7 teams on there schedule with a winning record and 2 of those teams where only a game above .500, so really Bama only had 5 legit winning teams on the schedule......your the one who is fooling yourself.

Anybody that watched the MNCG not think Gump was the best team? Anybody honestly think they wouldn't have been the Vegas favorites going in to a 4-team play-off?

I hate Gump, but I have to admit they were the best team last year. You think ND, tOSU, or any others could have gone in to LUS and won on the road at night? I don't................

Said he whose school lured away a B1G coach with promises of pork products.

The B1G is the most overrated conference and with the addition of Rutgers and Maryland will be even more so.

I don't think the B1G is rated very high. I also think that assessment is correct. The B1G is no better than the fourth best of the big five, and that maybe overrated.

tOSU would have been beaten as bad or worse the ND in the NCG and NO they wouldn't have beaten LUS last year. FACT.

I don't know why we always get in this conversation every year. Everyone thinks their conference or team is better than everyone else does. And Alabama should be good, the state can put all of it's resources behind amateur sports considering they have no professional sports.
