06:59 AM ET 05.13 | A little something like surgery to repair a damaged left retina on Wednesday wasn't going to hold Cowboys owner Jerry Jones back from keeping an eye on rookie minicamp Friday and Saturday. Jones is especially interested in seeing the progress of a rookie draft class that the Cowboys expect to get significant playing time. Jones is not just talking about center Travis Frederick, the first-round pick from Wisconsin. He is looking for big contributions from the first six picks: tight end Gavin Escobar (second round), receiver Terrance Williams and safety J.J. Wilcox (third round), cornerback B.W. Webb (fourth round) and running back Joseph Randle (fifth round). "This is where it starts," Jones said.

Eye surgery? Did he show up at training camp wearing a patch and saying "Aaargh!?"

Ahhhh... Micromanagement at its finest.

That s nice, but really, it is on draft days that you should set your sights high.

Actually Jerry's left eye was fitted with a "Laser Beem". He's going to motivate his coaches and players in a whole new way.....

The Dallas CowBorg.

He's praying the rookies do well or he's going to look like an idiot........again.

If Jerry Jones had a hand in selecting these guys - and he did of course - they'll be mediocre at best. JJ is the worst GM in the NFL.

The were dozens of scenarios of draft picks at #31, and Jones made one the two worst picks of the first round.

Nice.

They didn't specify whether the eye focused on minicamp was the one that was operated on.

Seven of Nine was nice. But I expect more like 7 of 16 from the Cowboys.

"Jerry sets sights high for Cowboys rookies"

Jerry oughta fire his eye doctor since he still has that same old nagging sights problem.

The Dallas CowBorg.

After throwing yet another interception, Tony Romo was found melting in the back of the end zone. Word is the Dallas Cowborg strikes again!

Worst GM is a bit harsh since he does have 3 SuperBowl titles in his tenure as CEO and GM of the Cowboys.

He has had some rough seasons in recent years but ANY GM/Owner with 3 titles under his belt has done something right at one point or another.

As for the article...good for him setting the bar high...will be nice to see the Center, TE, WR and RB come in and contribute immediately.

A good team slowly works there draft-picks into the line-up....a Desprate team relies on them to start immediately.
