Boudreau cementing bad reputation?

07:19 AM ET 05.13 | Bruce Boudreau's Caps teams, in more than four seasons, were known for regular season success and playoff failures. Could that be in the process of being repeated in Anaheim? The Ducks had the third-best record in the NHL during this shortened 48-game regular season but were saddled with a must-win Game 7 Sunday night in order to advance -- and failed in a 3-2 loss. ... His Capitals teams lost three of four Game 7s they appeared in. Did Boudreau need to win one to help his reputation? "I haven't thought about it that way," Saku Koivu said before the game. ... "And obviously Game 7 is one of those things that if you lose, I don't know, four Game 7s in a row, that's the thing that people are going to start questioning."

I guess the Kings didn't have much to do with it, did they?

I tried to watch it all but after all the Mama's Day food and straining my leg muscles jumping up and down after the Leafs W I was proper drained.

I'm certain you will properly hydrate before tonight.

I greatly prefer the "hydrate during the game viewing" method ;-)

The Kings??? What did they have to do with it?

Or the "hydrate during day of game" procedure.

Both procedures implemented together seems the proper plan.

He did the same thing with the AHL Monarchs for his entire tenure there. Then he gets canned, goes to Hersey (I think) and wins the Calder Cup in his first season behind the bench.Go figure.

I'm just glad to see the goon squad fly south. Bye bye Ducks! See you next fall!

He won the Cup the first year he was coaching (2005-06) but lost in the finals the next year. He was then promoted to Washington.

Hey I heard a rumor that the Detroit Red Wings beat the Ducks last night. That can't be, otherwise SI would have some story on it.

The Cup series are a different animal from the regular season. Boudreau would not be the first in hockey or any other sport to have failure in one and after success in the other.

WOOOOOOO!!!! Those old, heading to the toilet Wings didn't stand a chance against those Ducks. And with how Zetterberg and Datsyuk are playing, while playing 6 rookies...they should totally blow this team up.

Interesting, mind crushing day just to get to the Wings. (Interjection--is it just me, or on Friday night did they keep saying game 7 would be at 7 EST on Sunday? Thanks jacking with the schedule NBC, you bunch of whispering eyes.) Though brunch was a nice affair, everything else was a complete cluster. And then, with 5 or 6 minutes left in the game, the youngest boy started crying; would only stay quiet if I let him sleep on my chest, couldn't lay him back down. Watched the rest with him sealed to me and then the PP goal...thought for sure, because of how the day was going, that the Wings were going to blow it again. Celebrated the win by trying to sleep in the loveseat with the boy, staying up til 2. I'll take it!!!

That can't be true. The Wings are on the way down, aren't strong enough, they're too old, they don't have a franchise goaltender...

Like CI said yesterday..

"If its news, its news to SI"

I love that line.
