06:31 PM ET 05.13 | The Michigan Wolverines lost some depth Monday when it was announced that linebacker Mike Jones and defensive back Marvin Johnson left the program. Both players were primarily reserves throughout their careers in Ann Arbor, and they were competing for starting spots during spring practice. But as spring drills progressed, it did not appear as though either player would earn a lot of playing time in 2013. The two appeared in a combined 57 games with the Wolverines.

Why be a reserve at a average Big 10 school when you could be a starter at a Conference USA school??.. Seems it doesn't matter in the NFL draft where you go to school just as long as you play

Typical TSUN player in the pic above.

Leave and you could be champion!

LOL, I won't be calling Michigan an average football program, if I were you!!! What team do you support??? :-)

This would be considered roster management if it occurred somewhere else.

I'm guessing that Notre Dame dropping the Wolverines from their schedule in the future had something to do with it. Why would kids want to play for a team that ND does not consider a worthy opponent...? (let's see if that gets anything started).

Meat Chicken has won 5 of the last 7, correct? Big talk from the fan of a team running away in fear from a traditional series......

Nobody runs away from Michigan my friend and the thought that a team that played for a National Championship in 2012 is running away from a 8-5 team is even morre laughable...!

Lost 5 of the last 7, and ND is the one that refused to re-up the contract.....smells like fear to me

At least we have 2 more games in this series b/f ND slumps off and hides

BTW, you guys better not re-sign with U$C either...one of these days they're gonna get their SZCHIT together and fire LK & get bacvk on track. W/O Mustain there to complete passes to your DB's, you may not beat them for another 5-7 years, either.

It is roster management. These two bring the total number of player who have left THIS YEAR to eight. I don't care who you are, that is roster management.

It wasn't that much of a traditional series. It has been on and off again several times, usually at TSUN request. The boys in Ann Arbor have got their nose out of joint because ND would rather play the Spartans than them.

Thank you DS...these MU fans cannot fathom why other teams are more interesting and traditional rivals than they are.

Uh...Mustain hasn't played for USC since 2010...

Yep, and the only other time you beat them was with another scrub playing QB last year............

Wittke=Mustain. I see a pattern

To sidetrack this thread, what's the inside skinny on ND and the ACC media rights arrangement? ND retained and extended their home football games deal with NBC. Are they yielding media rights to the ACC for all other sports?

We'll see how these games go now that Hoke is loading. We do have two more years, you know.
