The best receivers in the AFC East?

06:56 AM ET 05.14 | For another few months, optimism rules in NFL front offices, at least publicly, and Brian Hartline is no different. [Hartline] looks at the Dolphins receiving contingent and he sees Mike Wallace, and Brandon Gibson and tight end Dustin Keller. You know what else he sees? The best receiving corps in the AFC East. "Absolutely, I think we are," Hartline said Monday on NFL AM. "The whole passing game I think is an advantage of ours." I like the confidence. And the analysis is probably correct. The Jets' best wide receiver is still Santonio Holmes and he's recovering from ACL surgery. ... The Patriots lost Wes Welker in free agency. ... The Bills have Stevie Johnson, a very good No. 2 wide receiver, but they don't have a lot after him.

How about dem Bruins!?!??

Amendola? Gronk? Hernandez?

May 14, 2013  07:58 AM ET

Wonder if Hartline understands that somebody has to throw the ball to those receivers?

May 14, 2013  08:28 AM ET

No Doubt. Looks like a race between the Patriots and Dolphins.

He's beating his chest after having a career year. 1083 yds on 74 recptions.

Watch Mike Wallace be another all dough, no show player with a big shiny new contract.

If you're lucky, two of them will be healthy and active at any given time.

Patriots have generally been able to get it done without fireworks in the receiving department. Even if Miami has the best cadre, it doesn't mean anything.

Caps choked once again last night..... Time to blow that team up, IMO.

All three of them will never line up at the same time during the season. It won't matter, though. Tom Brady will make whatever group of guys who line up look like the best receivers in the AFC East.

.....and the potential draft picks......maybe they should reassess the best WRs in the AFC EAST toward the end of the season. Plus, they are only as good as the QB throwing them the ball....if they cannot get the ball how good can they be for the team.

One trick pony...

Did New Engalnd move out of the division? Or maybe Brady retired? I thnk I missed one of these big announcements.

I saw yesterday where Tannehill said Wallace was "the best WR he's ever seen". That's not saying a whole lot considering Tannehill has only been in the league for a year.

This receiving corps will be the impetus for the addition of a state-of-the-art medical triage unit in the locker room and the new three spot "Ambulances Only" parking lot just outside.

Doesn't matter. They'll still look fantastic racing down the field after overthrown balls.

You've never tried to leave that stadium at the end of a game, have you? They need 3 new helicopters. If you put someone in an ambulance, he'll die before he gets to the hospital.

Of starvation, unless the ambulance crew has a tailgate barbecue going.

All question marks. Fitting.

Tannehill played well last year and with another year and more weapons to play with should do even better. It is hard to argue that they don't have the best receiving corps in that division.
