06:58 AM ET 05.14 | Clocking in with 311, no running back has caught as many passes as Ray Rice in the five years he's spent in the league. Now the Pro Bowl running back wants to increase his role in the passing game one year removed from catching 61 passes for 478 yards and one touchdown. "Now that guys know that I'm a threat out of the backfield, I got to use my hands a little more," Rice said at Ray Rice Day, a free youth football clinic at Calvert Hall. "I get pushed a lot coming out of the backfield, and that's a sign of respect, but if I can get my hands and get out on pass routes and continue to get open for Joe Flacco." ... Listed at 5 feet 8 and 212 pounds, Rice looked lean and well-conditioned during his football clinic.

Ravens' diminutive RB aims to make a bigger impact. Is this a backhanded compliement or a downright insult.

He's still an asset because of his versatility. However, I think he's starting to lose a bit of his magic in the running game. He didn't wow me for much of last year, although that play in the Chargers game was an all-time great.

Maybe they just aren't using him right. Then again, they won the championship, so what do I know...

It's always interesting when you start o hear running backs talking about how they can be used differently in the offense. They take a tremendous pounding running inside and I think Ray start to see the writing on the wall. He's as tough as they come, but the body can only take so much.

You know who deserves more credit for the SB win.... Jim Caldwell.
