Jets blast Josh Cribbs despite interest in signing him

01:25 AM ET 05.15 | One of the many holes the New York Jets need to address is the wide receiver position, and the Jets showed they are still looking for one. The team hosted former Cleveland Browns Pro Bowler Josh Cribbs last week in New Jersey. The dynamic wide receiver/return man is a potential free agent acquisition for a Jets team that desperately needs playmakers -- especially one of Cribbs' caliber. However, the receiver is not 100 percent healthy. Cribbs, who is recovering from a knee injury that he suffered last season, failed a physical with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason. And according to Rich Cimini of ESPN, the Jets are waiting for the receiver to get healthy before offering him a contract. "I don't think he's quite there yet, but he is probably getting close," said Jets' new general manager John Idzik.

Blast?

Good to start my morning with another terribly titled report! The Jets "blast" Josh Cribbs? I'm not sure how saying "I don't think he's quite there yet, but he is probably getting close" is 'blast'ing a player. Keep up the good work SI interns!

A blast from the past?

With all Josh has to Say... He'd be a Great Fit for the Jets...

Sign him right up.

Look at the source... The Empire writes back?? LOSER.

Cribbs is a solution as a return man, but not wide receiver

The article was his (or hers) but not the headline. This was just the intern doing his (or her) job of ensuring every article about the Jets contains some form of controversy.

NFL.COM is reporting David Gerard is no longer with the team, so it really doesn't matter whether Cribbs is a real WR or not, there is no one to throw him the ball.

Damn... Just earlier this week, the Half Crocked Jets fans were saying the Jets would "Trade" Sanchez cause they had Gerard to show Geno the ropes...

I guess Sanchez will now take on the role of Teacher :-)

Jets need to bring back Tim Tebow.

Make that about 17 tokes over the line.

They might need to bring in somebody... apparently David Garrard has called it quits.

Indeed... he is wise in the ways of the Buttfumble.

This team is a broken down, crack addled, Ryan stunted mess. The jets should be put to sleep and another team purchased at the NFL store!

I don't see it, either.

This is blatant sensationalism, to the point of being inaccurate reporting.

This is the new age media.
