07:04 AM ET 05.15 | On the most public edition of the first day of the rest of his life, Sam Hinkie more than delivered, particularly when asked about Andrew Bynum. Hinkie paused for a while before answering. For five long seconds, actually. "I don't think there's anything else to be said about the trade except the way people think about it in hindsight," Hinkie said. ... "I think of Andrew like the thousands of other young men walking around the world that are unrestricted free agents that have the potential to play NBA basketball. And he is one of those. And I am duty-bound to consider them, to look at them, all of them." You can read and re-read that quote and here's what you'll come away with: Not much.

In other words... He's just a guy.

Who's going to give Bynum max contract? There are only 4-5 teams that can give him max.

We'll take Andrew if he wants to play for the veteran minimum.

I concur that statment plus +$1dollar to get him to stay with Philly. He might be Oden, no reason to give him a max. He will most likely return if at all around all-star break being he had more surgery in March.

No one is giving this guy a max deal now. I wonder if he can get insurance on them knees. The only one I know who couldn't get insurance on an injury was Amare. The GM that gives him a max will be fired.

Bynum is no Super Star anymore, he has met his Kryptonite.

I don't think Hinkie would pick Bynum for a Saturday morning game at the YMCA

Let's hope that Andrew Bynum has done enough to prevent himself from ever playing another minute in the N.B.A. With regular people struggling, this guy got paid to sit on his **** until the season ended, only to have him show up in Spain, Flamenco dancing (of all things). He's proven fraud and should never get another dime as a basketball player. His heart and mind clearly isn't in it.

in todays nba- giving a guy the max makes him the default centerpiece you CANNOT build your team around a guy that will miss chunks of the season

I agree but somehow the Knicks didn't follow your suggestion. They signed 3 max guys and only 1 was worth the max...

Are you saying Dolan is dumb enough to bring Bynum to the BIG apple?
