07:07 AM ET 05.15 | The Knicks locker room wore all the signs of defeat Tuesday night, and for good reason. Carmelo Anthony spoke in a whisper. J.R. Smith took blame for this collapse. Tyson Chandler had no criticism, just praise for the Pacers. Mike Woodson seemed stunned their shotmaking has gone so wayward, so quickly. The Knicks have sunk in a deep hole. ... The Pacers routed the Knicks, 93-82, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse to jack their second-round series lead to 3-1. The Knicks never have rallied from a 3-1 deficit -- just eight NBA teams have in history. "I take the blame for this whole series," Smith said. "I've been letting my teammates down, I've been letting my coaches down, and it doesn't feel good."

Keep shooting J.R...

Negative, sir. That's your leader's job to shoulder the blame. But I'm not sure the leader has actually taken that responsibility himself. Maybe a certain Knicks' SF is not a leader after all.

He fouled out. Had nothing to say but mumbles.

I genuinely feel for Knicks fans... including shutty.

Their team isn't remotely competitive.

It's a good thing for Shutty not showing up. His god is being compared to Kobe... NY is done. They're too easy to defend. Their ball movement and their shooting is awful.

What exactly has Melo singlehandedly done for you to say that? This is a team sport. Nobody can do it alone, not even Lebron which is why he took a powder from Cleveland, p***ied out and went to join with Wade and Bosh in Miami.

Is Melo also the reason for the Bulls' collapse? Oh no. Thats right. The Bulls title run ended the very moment their star/franchise player decided to let his sissy side shine, refusing to play the game for which he's being paid vast sums of money to play.

Once again. Worry about the Bulls. You guys have plenty of your own problems.

We are finished

whatever happens from here on out, I will learn 2nd hand since I won't be watching anymore. I've wasted enough of my valuable time on the Knicks. And I truly don't care who wins what at this point. Ef the NBA.

In fact, I should take this opportunity to wish you all well and say that's its been fun (for the most part) on FN this season. I probably won't be on here much anymore for a while. I need a break so I can decompress.

Why call it a collapse. Its not as if the Knicks built up a real team over the course of the regular season and playoffs. They were pancake to begin with

He has singlehandedly NOT taken responsibility for his team's actions. Did you not read what I typed? Durant's team is losing right now.....he's taking responsibility even though it's not entirely his fault. Why? Because he's the leader! When Lebron lost in the Finals twice and in the Conf. Finals a few times, he took responsibility because he's the leader. Doesn't mean it was all his fault. Do you hear Carmelo doing any of that? Nope.....we hear J.R. Smith instead!

Don't worry though, Doc! I'll have the boat, you bring the fishing poles and we can all joke about our teams' collapse.
