07:11 AM ET 05.15 | It doesn't take a scout's eye to see that slumping Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton hasn't quite been himself at the plate, something he addressed Tuesday. The best way [Hamilton] can describe whatever it is he's going through right now is to simply say he's "off upstairs." ... Hamilton will simply tell you that he's sick and dealing with some sort of sinus congestion that makes him prone to dizziness and sensitive to the bright lights of a Major League stadium. "I'm just off," he said. "However you want to write it, however you want to describe it -- I'm just off." Hamilton said he has been dealing with this issue throughout his career, and his most recent bout began on May 5.

For his sake, I hope he is being honest with himself, and, what he says is the truth, and, that it is not something else which is involved.

I'm sure Arte is comforted with this news.

I don't think he was even talking about sinuses when he said he was off upstairs...

Maybe he means he is not so much "in" with the main upstairs as he has claimed.

The Rangers should be as happy as the Cards were by not signing Hamilton long term and could afford to keep other key parts of their team.

This guy always has an excuse...nicotine withdrawal, too much caffeine, sinusitis. Is it all a cover up or is his whole system out of whack from all the drug use?

He does have a list handy at all times. Must annoy the heck out of other players, who is 100% every day?

I'm not sure about that but I will agree this is kind of a strange excuse for not performing like he has in the past. I've had sinus issues myself over the years and only experienced dizziness when I actually had vertigo for a short spell. Too much caffeine is another strange excuse. More than anything teams have got to start wising up about the high cost long term contracts they're handing out. Downright stupid in some cases.

Whats the rush? He has five years to figure it out. At least he will not be worrying about house money. Jeesh!

I know that snorting powder will erode your septum. I can't imagine crack fumes being good for the sinuses.
