07:22 AM ET 05.15 | On a list of places Bob Murray wanted to be Tuesday, breaking down the Ducks' playoff flameout in front of reporters was probably not on it. But after the Ducks lost to Detroit in Game 7 on Sunday night, Murray plainly broke down how a first-round knockout would not cut it in a year when they captured a division title. "I didn't expect to be having meetings with players at this moment," Murray said. "We got beat. We got schooled." ... "As I'm standing here today, I'm telling you it won't be the same team next year," Murray said. "We made a lot of good steps. We got a lot of good kids. It will not be the same team next year, I promise you that. It's not good enough. Just not good enough."

Murray said. "We got beat. We got schooled." ...

How refreshing...

Perry lived right up to that big contract didn't he??

The Red Wings can embarrass any team. If Bruce isn't packing his bags yet he's about to.

May 15, 2013  09:04 AM ET

The Ducks took the Wings just a little too lightly. They should have known better.

May 15, 2013  09:15 AM ET

They have a cancer in their organization.

I guess he's ready to fire Brian Burke?

Yep. That's what happens when you try to goon your way through a series rather than play hockey.

First order of business - trade Bobby Ryan to the Flyers.

Probably not on the list?? I'm pretty sure talking about a first round exit was definitely not on his list of things to do on Tuesday.

Actually, some teams can successfully goon their way to victory [glances towards Ottawa] if they match up against teams who lose their cool and can get knocked off their game by goonery [glances towards Montreal & Pittsburgh], but there are certain composed & wise teams who flip goonery against them to an advantage [glances towards Detroit].

You could consider the Red Wings the Bugs Bunny of the NHL.

Here, here

Well, they faced a team that has vets that know how to play with their balls (ha!) and youngins that have balls. In all honesty, when they turned it on the Ducks were the better team; but one has to ask why they couldn't start more than half the games. Three games the Wings won they dominated the early going, only to have it made close or tied; the Wings know the answer there, they've got youth getting used to this thing called the Stanley Cup Playoffs. What's Anaheim's excuse? The ghosts of Chris Pronger's karma I would say.

Bingo!

This guy played himself into a nice pay cut.

And it's not like he didn't have his chances. He had quite a few, five at least, open looks/breakaways that he didn't do anything with...of course it was Jimmy stoning him, so he had no chance.

Btw, if they play, who's the frontrunner for USA Hockey goalie? Is it Jimmy? Bishop, who's in the Worlds right now? Miller certainly isn't his Vancouver level anymore. Richter?

1) Quick
2) Howard
3) Bishop

Ryan"s gone - I hope they get equity - need a better blue line - Hiller's not good enough to win the cup...

And were out-coached. When Babs broke the lines up for game 7 putting Zetts and Dats on different lines they were down 1-0 before they could think.
