03:18 PM ET 05.15 | While Wanderlei Silva failed to meet Chael Sonnen's 24-hour deadline, the popular fighter said he was backing down from the challenge. "Jon Jones and Anderson (Silva) have been too nice to Chael," Silva told "UFC Tonight" correspondent Ariel Helwani. "I want to suck his blood. I want to smell it. Not just fight. Not just fight. I want to hurt him. Chael is a joke, man. He's going to be second forever. He's never going to be first."

Sonnen's act is getting old.. talks tough but doesn't back it up.. Silva would hurt Sonnen if the two fought.. which would be a good thing

Yeah no doubt...the chael sonnen show has most definitely gotten old but unfortunately so has wanderlei. his skills simply aren't what they use to be but I hope he has enough in the tank to give chael another beat down!

Both these guys looking for a payday. Wandy in my opinion would stay on his back most of the fight, no way he drinks Chaels blood.

Chael Chael Chael.. I must say he knows how to drum up good paying fights. And they fall for it hook line and sinker everytime

It may be getting old, but it works. People pay to see him fight. He talked his way into a title fight in a weight class he hadn't fought in for a long time. So long as he doesn't get embarassed by Silva, he'll be making money for a long time.

I mean i guess the nonsense he pulls can be called making a living....in clownish kinda of way but who wants to be known as the gerry cooney of mma. actually cooney at least KO'd a champ. chael talks a good game i guess but seriously him and dana must have some kind of behind the scenes love affair going on.

I agree that Chael's act is getting old, however Chael does it to sell the show...which he does very well. Chael is widely regarded as one of the nicest, most charitable fighters in MMA period which surprises a lot of people. I went to a UFC event four years ago and actually met Chael and I can honestly say he is about as genuine as they come. Super nice and made himself available to all the fans. I do wish he would actually win some fights, but he does what he does best and that is selling the product. We all tune in, love or hate him; but to watch him none the less.

When he's in his own weight division he is more than competitive. When he went up and fought a once in a generation kind of fighter in Jones he was predictably ousted quickly. I don't get the talks tough and doesn't back it up vitriol. He stepped up ( big difference ) when nobody would and took a beating that I'm sure even he knew was coming. He was seconds from pulling off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history and has never blown off his duties to the UFC to promote it's image and it's brand. The same cannot be said for Anderson.
