07:00 AM ET 05.16 | At least for the time being, Charles Woodson won't be suiting up in orange and blue. [Woodson] left Denver Broncos headquarters late Wednesday afternoon without an NFL contract. Woodson spent much of the day with Broncos coaches, personnel and a few players at the team's Dove Valley headquarters. Although, the Oakland Raiders and Carolina Panthers also are interested in signing the versatile defensive back, the Broncos were likely the leading candidate for Woodson because they have the best chance to win a Super Bowl this year. It was incumbent upon the Broncos to assure Woodson they're the team for him. The Broncos have roughly $7 million in salary cap room.

Maybe they just didn't want him.

What kind of team places so much on the shoulders of one old man, anyway?

He's working pretty hard to find a place to play for one or two years. Wonder if his time has passed?

Won't be David Garrard with the Jets. He's "taking a knee" and calling it quits.

So, the Jets have probably lost the best QB in camp.

For sure. He was supposed to start and mentor Geno.

It's kinda fitting if you think about it... Rex and Sanchez rode into NY together, and they'll probably be riding out together, too.

Poor Jets fans.

Defense took them to 2 Conference finals and Sanchez gets the big contract.
Now they're stuck with him or take a large cap hit and start ?

It looks like Woody Johnson fired Mike Tannenbaum a year too late.
